Welcome to Our Blog: I’m Fine (But Not Entirely) and That’s OK

We three psychotherapists, Michael Mazius, Angela Miller, and Beth Paras, will be sharing principles and practices intended to bolster mental and emotional health, all of which are derived from the scientific literature and our own life experiences. Even though we are “trained professionals,” we, like you, often find ourselves stressed, out of balance, and sometimes out of control as we navigate the rigors of our fast-paced and overwhelming lives. Sometimes, actually, maybe, lots of times, the challenges of work, keeping up with technology (not!), nurturing friendships and relationships, getting enough sleep, being super mom or dad (if one has kids), and all the rest that accompanies life in these times proves to be quite the challenge. It’s no surprise that anxiety, despair, and psychosomatic illness remains on the rise!

Our blog promises to be honest and chock full of relatable stories about our trials and tribulations, our fails and our victories. Our aim and wish is that you, our reader and fellow life traveler, will come away with highly useful and new ideas and/or feel encouraged that the work you’re already doing are formulas for getting and keeping yourself healthy. We also hope that you will feel inclined to respond to our posts. After all, the best ideas and approaches always come from a collaborative effort. Clearly, we need each other to be our best selves.
